Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Systems Engineering Process Engineering Scientist at the PICKLE Research Campus. You will steer the systems engineering lifecycle for GNSS-related capabilities, eliciting scope, guiding requirements, and decomposing work for multiple project teams.

You will lead processes, manage backlogs, and mentor junior staff while coordinating with stakeholders through all phases from definition to implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science, applied science, or engineering.
• Three years of relevant professional work experience developing systems requirements and designs.
• Demonstrated ability to design, develop, evaluate, and support large and complex systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including technical detail for diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a strong team orientation.

Responsibilities

• Elicit systems scope and requirements from stakeholders for use in designs.
• Develop and refine systems engineering processes across project teams.
• Lead backlog management and decomposition of work within an Agile process.
• Communicate work, products, and results through reports and briefs.
• Coordinate with stakeholders throughout system life-cycle from definition to deployment.
• Perform engineering estimates, guide schedules, and identify dependencies.
• Conduct engineering evaluations such as trade studies and risk analyses.
• Mentor junior staff, technicians, and students.
• Perform other related functions as assigned.
