Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Roy, UT / Colorado Springs, CO seeks a Systems Engineering Manager 2 to lead a team delivering complex defense systems and support equipment. Role includes technical and programmatic leadership, interface development, and verification planning.

The role requires a U.S. Government Secret clearance, strong SE process knowledge, and experience with DOORS/Cameo/NX. Relocation assistance may be available, with a 9/80 work schedule and travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 8+ years of related technical experience or a Master’s with 6+ years of related experience.
• 2+ years experience with Systems Engineering Lifecycle in requirements development, architecture, verification planning, and interface definition.
• Active U.S. Government Secret clearance at time of application, current and within scope.
• At least 3+ years of leading a project and driving performance against schedule.
• Strong understanding of the SE process across multiple levels of integration.
• 3+ years with Systems Engineering Lifecycle including requirements, architecture, verification and interface definition.
• 3+ years with IBM DOORS, Cameo, CPLM and/or NX
• 2+ years with Agile project management using Jira, Confluence, or equivalent tools
• 1+ years with Support Equipment development, engineering and sustainment

Responsibilities

• Own technical and programmatic leadership for a team of ~10 FTE in systems engineering functions.
• Serve as a Work Package Lead (WPL) with cost, schedule, and earned value responsibilities.
• Review OPSCON documentation to understand requirements decomposition.
• Generate OPSCON documentation for required support equipment activities.
• Develop and mature interface products (Interface Requirements Specification, Interface Design Description, Interface Control Model).
• Develop and mature verification applicability matrix (VAM) within the support segment specs.
• Perform requirements and verification for 200+ pieces of support equipment.
• Own employee performance management, mentorship, training, and career development.
