Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager 2 to lead the SIT&E team within SEIT, supervising 8–12 engineers across Baltimore programs. The role blends direct program work (~80%) with functional management (~20%), driving technical leadership and staff development on site in Baltimore, MD.

You will guide engineering processes, coordinate staffing, and engage with customers while advancing several program objectives and tech roadmaps in a dynamic defense environment.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Current/active U.S. Government Secret Clearance and ability to obtain SAP prior to start.
• Experience with people management or program leadership.
• Experience in integration, test and evaluation of radar, electronic warfare, RF systems or real time embedded SW.
• Ability to work onsite full-time in Baltimore, MD.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering staff and oversee 8–12 engineers and SMEs, plus functional management duties.
• Coordinate staffing with peer managers and program counterparts to support proposals, design reviews, and customer meetings.
• Ensure adherence to engineering processes and department guidelines; manage workload forecasting and talent development.
• Oversee department budget, compensation planning, and staff training on engineering tools.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal/external customers and contribute to technology roadmap initiatives.
