Job summary

ROHDE & SCHWARZ GmbH & Co. KG is seeking a senior systems engineering leader to guide a high-performing team. You will work with Program Management, chief systems engineering, test, design, production, service, quality, and other program teams across Europe and North America to align on requirements and delivery.

You will define the systems engineering strategy, standards, and roadmaps, drive architecture reviews, and ensure documentation and reporting meet customer and regulatory needs.

Qualifications

• Experience leading systems engineering teams.
• Ability to collaborate with program management, chief systems engineer, test, design, production, service, quality and other teams.
• Proven track record defining strategy, standards, and roadmaps for complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of systems engineers.
• Collaborate closely with Program Management and engineering offices across functions.
• Define and execute systems engineering strategy, roadmap, and standards.
• Drive architecture and design reviews and technical decision-making.
• Lead efforts for creating and maintaining technical documentation.
• Translate customer needs into requirements and solutions.
• Prepare regular project progress reports and resolutions.
• Participate in technical interchange meetings with program team and customers.
• Work with product, Software, and R&D teams in Europe and North America.

Job description

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of systems engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate closely with Program Management, Chief System Engineer office, test engineering, design engineering, production, service, quality, and other integrated program teams.
• Define and execute systems engineering strategy, roadmap, and technical standards to support organizational objectives, scalability, reliability, and security requirements.
• Drive architecture and design reviews and technical decision-making to ensure solutions align with customer requirements, business priorities, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
• Lead efforts for creating and maintaining technical documentation according to customer requirements.
• Translate customer needs into requirements and competitive solutions maximizing R&S content.
• Prepare regular reports on project progress, issues encountered, and resolutions implemented.
• Participate in technical interchange meetings with program team (R&S and customers).
• Work closely with the product, Software and R&D engineering teams based in Europe and North America.
