Job summary

Frontline Communications, a division of Pierce Manufacturing and part of the Oshkosh family, is seeking a student intern to assist design and production engineers in Clearwater, FL. The role focuses on systems engineering tasks for broadcast and communications vehicles.

Responsibilities include CAD layouts, component selection, and testing of vehicle systems. You will work on prototype and production builds, with opportunities to collaborate with suppliers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Student working towards a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field, for the duration of internship.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Interest in communications systems design and networking is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist design/production engineers with CAD layouts and component selection.
• Follow prototype/pilot or production builds and provide technical assistance.
• Design, model, and test new communication systems components for vehicles.
• Update bill of materials to reflect product changes.
• Set up and configure IP addresses and serial communications in mobile command centers.
• Support on-site engineering tasks and ad hoc projects as needed.
