Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a Systems Engineering Department Manager 3 to lead a department, set objectives, and mentor section managers across engineering disciplines. The role oversees planning, risk, and technical quality for programs including Sentinel/GBSD, ICBM Sustainment, and Advanced Programs.

The ideal candidate will have a STEM degree with extensive related experience and be eligible for a Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 8 years related experience or Master’s Degree with 6 years related experience.
• Ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance and Special Program Access.
• Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at time of application.
• Experience in requirements development/management using DOORS or similar tool.
• Experience in model development/management using CAMEO or similar tool.
• Experience in Model Based System Engineering with an understanding of DODAF and SysML.

Responsibilities

• Lead a department within the Systems Engineering organization and report to the SDS Systems Engineering Director.
• Set operating objectives and mentor Section Managers to align with engineering goals and policy.
• Provide oversight to multiple business areas to achieve program goals.
• Manage planning, risk, project performance, schedule, and technical quality, addressing issues as needed.
• Develop and maintain talent within the organization through mentorship and training.
