Job summary

Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Dallas, Texas seeks an Associate, Systems Engineering to develop expertise across networks, storage, OS, databases, and software languages. You will design and implement cloud-based solutions for scalable applications and help automate testing, monitoring, and recovery processes.

Applicants should have a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 1–3 years’ experience, plus hands-on work with Oracle, DB2, UNIX, Python, and shell scripting.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Information Systems/Technology, or related field with 1 year of relevant experience.
• Or Bachelor’s degree in same fields with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Oracle, DB2, UNIX, Python, and shell scripting.
• Familiarity with SDLC including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, release, and support.
• Ability to analyze SQL performance and disaster recovery planning.

Responsibilities

• Develop expertise across networks, storage, operating systems, databases, and software languages.
• Design and develop infrastructure using public and private cloud-based solutions for on-demand scaling.
• Create automated testing processes, standards, tools to ensure smooth operations.
• Apply data analysis to identify and react to infrastructure problems.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve application issues via log analysis and debugging.
• Develop and monitor reports to track application health and support performance.
• Monitor production risk and change management processes.
• Improve stability and performance via automation and machine-learning driven analyses.
• Review production incidents and coordinate with users, owners, vendors and stakeholders.
• Contribute to business continuity planning and disaster recovery and contingency planning.
