Job summary

Legato, LLC is seeking a Systems Engineer in Annapolis Junction, MD. The role requires TS/SCI with Polygraph and involves technical leadership across the full lifecycle of complex hardware and software systems.

You will translate operational needs into verifiable system requirements, develop architectures, and guide integration and testing activities. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required, with extensive SE experience and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Systems Engineer for programs of similar scope.
• Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline; five (5) additional years may substitute for a degree.
• Experience developing and managing system and derived requirements.
• Experience with system architecture and system design.
• Experience supporting integration and testing of complex hardware and software.
• Experience developing systems engineering and technical documentation.
• Experience with requirements analysis, functional allocation, interfaces, and reviews.
• Experience developing system integration and test plans.
• Experience coordinating technical activities across multiple engineering teams.
• Experience supporting configuration management, risk management, and lifecycle activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership throughout the full system engineering lifecycle for complex hardware and software systems.
• Translate operational needs into well-defined, verifiable system requirements.
• Analyze requirements, develop architectures and guide integration and implementation activities.
• Derive lower-level requirements, define interfaces, evaluate concepts, ensure traceability.
• Contribute to plans, specifications, interface control docs, system design, and test plans.
• Support design reviews, test activities, configuration management, risk assessment, and cross-functional coordination.
• Maintain the technical integrity of system baselines through development to operations and maintenance.
