Job summary

Legato, LLC is seeking a Systems Engineer in Annapolis Junction, MD, for a TS/SCI w/ Polygraph position. The role leads the full lifecycle of complex hardware and software systems, translating operations into verifiable requirements and guiding integration and testing across multiple teams.

Qualified candidates have 14 years of systems engineering experience, a related bachelor's degree (or 5 extra years in lieu), and strong documentation and lifecycle skills.

Qualifications

• 14 years of experience as a Systems Engineer on programs of similar scope and complexity
• Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline;5 additional years may substitute for a degree
• Experience developing and managing system and derived requirements
• Experience with system architecture and system design
• Experience supporting integration and testing of complex hardware and software systems
• Experience developing systems engineering and technical documentation
• Experience with requirements analysis, functional allocation, interfaces, and system requirements reviews
• Experience developing system integration and test plans
• Experience coordinating technical activities across multiple engineering teams and disciplines
• Experience supporting configuration management, risk management, and lifecycle activities

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership throughout the full system engineering lifecycle
• Translate operational needs into well-defined, verifiable system requirements
• Analyze requirements, develop architectures, design solutions, and guide integration and implementation activities
• Derive lower-level requirements, define interfaces, evaluate concepts, and ensure traceability
• Contribute to engineering plans, specifications, interface control docs, design docs, and test plans
• Support design reviews, testing, configuration management, risk assessment, and cross-functional coordination
• Maintain technical integrity of system baselines from development to deployment and maintenance
