Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a seasoned Systems Engineer for the SEIT team to convert mission requirements into a complete system solution and to definitize the architecture for a next-gen MILSATCOM system. You will define interfaces between critical elements and perform thorough analyses to ensure mission success.

The role requires experience with system integration, verification, and design reviews, and necessitates eligibility for a DoD SECRET clearance. Multiple locations available.

Qualifications

• 5 years of Systems Engineering experience.
• Requirements allocation, flow-down, verification, and/or VCRM development experience.
• Experience in developing and/or verification of Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
• Experience working either Satellite or Ground Segment programs.
• Eligibility to obtain a DOD SECRET Security Clearance; US Citizenship required.

Lockheed Martin is designing, developing, and delivering a next-gen wideband MILSATCOM system comprised of integrated space and ground segments that will provide enhanced communications capacity, flexibility and resiliency.

This position will be a key member of the Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) team in support of the final design, development, production, integration, test, and delivery of this critical capability focused on the requirements development, decomposition, and verification.

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT.

Basic Qualifications

• 5 years of Systems Engineering experience
• Requirements allocation, flow-down, verification, and/or VCRM development experience
• Experiencing developing and/or verification of Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
• Experience working either Satellite or Ground Segment programs
• Eligibility to obtain a DOD SECRET Security Clearance. Thus US Citizenship is required

Desired Skills

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering or a closely related technical discipline
• 10+ years of Requirements and Verification Experience
• Experience in executing design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, etc)
• Experience with Requirements Allocation Documentation
• System Integration Experience
• Familiarity with DOORS & CAMEO
• Background in designing, or sustaining communication subsystems (e.g., RF, optical, digital), for space missions
• Active or Current DoD SECRET Security Clearance
• Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice

Full-Time Salary Range: $145100.00 - $269500.00
