Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space in Colorado Springs seeks a highly capable engineer to perform technical planning, system integration, verification, and validation for total systems and IT-related responsibilities including hardware/software design and analysis.

Role requires reading engineering drawings, AutoCAD experience, and a basic understanding of network design; you must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and work in confined spaces. Hands-on use of diagnostic tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation for total systems.
  • Conduct cost and risk analyses and supportability and effectiveness analyses.
  • Design, develop, and analyze computer systems or programs based on user or system design specifications.
  • Consult with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications.
  • Translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications considering schedule and cost constraints.

Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Basic Qualifications
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings in support of hardware installations
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Basic understanding of Network design.
  • Able to lift to 55lbs and work in confined spaces
Desired Skills
  • Experience with computers, servers, networking equipment, and a broad range of hand tools.
  • Proven track record troubleshooting connectivity, power, and system performance issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills; ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Hands‑on experience with multimeters, cable testers, fiber‑optic testers, and similar diagnostic tools.
  • Familiarity with basic electrical safety
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $70500.00 - $130900.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
