Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation seeks a Systems Engineer (Project Engineer – Systems Engineering) to provide independent systems engineering and architecture analysis for NASA's SCaN program at NASA HQ. You will work with civil servants, industry partners, and international stakeholders on campaigns spanning lunar, cislunar, and deep space missions.

Required are a bachelor’s degree and 6+ years in space systems engineering, with experience in requirements, architecture, and trade studies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Systems, Computer Engineering, CS, Math, Physics or related field.
• 6+ years of professional experience in systems engineering, space communications, navigation or related fields.
• Experience with space communication/navigation systems and NASA/DoD or similar programs.
• Demonstrated systems engineering processes across lifecycle: requirements, architecture, trade studies, evaluations.
• Ability to travel 10–20% and obtain security clearance (U.S. citizenship).

Responsibilities

• Provide systems engineering and technical integration support for SCaN commercialization and innovation initiatives.
• Support formulation and execution of research and acquisition campaigns (BAAs, AoAs, RFIs, etc.).
• Evaluate architectures, trade studies, and technical evaluations for space comms and navigation systems.
• Prepare briefings and technical recommendations for SCaN and NASA leadership.
• Collaborate with industry, international partners, and cross-agency stakeholders.
