Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Navigation & Systems Engineer (Project Engineer – Systems Engineering) based at Goddard Spaceflight Center, MD, with a strong focus on PNT and mission engineering for SCaN initiatives. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
• 6+ years of professional experience in systems engineering and navigation systems or related fields.
• Experience supporting NASA, DoD, or comparable government PNT systems.
• Demonstrated systems engineering processes across lifecycle: requirements, architecture, trade studies, evaluations.
• Involvement in NASA/government/FFRDC programs related to SCaN, space comms, navigation, or exploration architectures.

Responsibilities

• Provide systems engineering and technical integration support for SCaN commercialization and innovation initiatives.
• Leverage PNT knowledge in support of SCaN formulation and execution of research campaigns.
• Support formulation and execution of research and acquisition campaigns (BAAs, AoAs, RFIs).
• Conduct architecture assessments, trade studies, and technical evaluations for space comms and navigation systems.
• Evaluate candidate network architectures and system-of-systems concepts for lunar, cislunar, deep space missions.
• Prepare technical briefings, decision packages, and campaign summaries for SCaN and NASA leadership.
• Assist with programmatic metrics, performance tracking, and monthly status reports.
