Job summary

Apogee Engineering seeks a Systems Engineer SME to support NAVWAR and GPS/PNT modernization at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. You will evaluate requirements, perform trade studies, and develop technical documentation for system integration and fielding of modernized navigation capabilities.

The role involves collaboration with Government engineers, program managers, industry partners, and platform stakeholders, plus preparation of technical briefings and assessments for leadership.

Qualifications

• Citizenship: US citizen required
• Clearance: DoD Secret Clearance required
• BA/BS in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or related field
• Relevant systems engineering experience on major weapon systems
• Valued: GPS/PNT modernization, NAVWAR experience

Responsibilities

• Provide systems engineering and technical support for NAVWAR and GPS/PNT modernization, including receivers, antennas, and avionics.
• Evaluate requirements and proposed solutions to support development, demonstration, integration, and fielding of modernized PNT capabilities.
• Conduct analyses and trade studies addressing performance, risks, and alternatives.
• Support acquisition activities by preparing and reviewing engineering documentation and submissions.
• Coordinate with Government program offices, aircraft teams, industry partners, and stakeholders on integration challenges.
• Develop and review technical requirements, interface docs, SEPs, PESHEs, and program materials.
• Assess compatibility and integration of avionics, GPS receivers, and navigation systems.
• Support test and evaluation planning, execution, and issue resolution.
• Prepare technical briefings and decision-support materials for leadership.
• Collaborate across the broader military aviation receiver and Assured PNT enterprise.
