Job summary

Apogee Engineering seeks a Systems Engineer SME to support mission-critical software modernization and deployment for the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center and USSTRATCOM/J56. The role focuses on advancing mission planning through systems engineering, Agile/DevOps practices, and CI/CD for dual-domain capabilities.

The position is full-time and on-site at Offutt AFB, Nebraska, with travel up to 10%. Candidates must be US citizens with TS/SCI eligibility and at least a Bachelor's degree and 12

Qualifications

• Citizenship: US citizen required.
• Clearance: TS w/SCI eligibility.
• Education: Bachelor's degree.
• Years of Experience: Minimum 12 years total; 5+ years with DoD.

Responsibilities

• Lead business systems analysis to support integration of conventional and nuclear mission capabilities under J56.
• Coordinate requirements with stakeholders across conventional and nuclear operations.
• Develop process flows and data exchange mappings bridging legacy nuclear systems with modern platforms.
• Partner with engineering and security teams to meet nuclear surety, safety and compliance standards.
• Facilitate cross-domain groups to resolve integration challenges and ensure interoperability.
• Oversee end-to-end integration testing including scenario simulations of mission sets.
• Provide leadership with impact analyses, risk assessments, and mitigation recommendations.
