Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide system-level integration support for the Space Launch System (SLS) program, working with EV72 and lead engineers across NASA centers. The role involves participating in reviews, TIMs, and trade studies, ensuring architecture controls and disciplined design across propulsion, avionics, power, and software.

The position requires a degree in engineering (ABET preferred) and 5+ years of experience, strong communication, and the ability to collaborate

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering; ABET-accredited is preferred.
• Typically 5+ years of systems engineering and integration experience.
• Experience across organizational boundaries to resolve propulsion system issues.
• Excellent oral and written communication, customer relations skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Provide system functional design and integration support for the SLS program.
• Control the integrated system architecture through governing documents.
• Perform technical integration across NASA Centers and engineering disciplines.
• Develop strategic plans and resolve design issues to meet schedules.
• Supply leadership for key system engineering products at milestones.
• Lead integration activities between SLS, EGS, Element and Prime Contractors.
• Support ICD development and coordination for SLSP-to-GSDOP interfaces.
• Assist in verification activities and issue resolution.
