As a deep-tech startup, Infleqtion embraces a results-driven, fast-paced, and customer-focused approach to innovation. We seek an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to support the execution of multidisciplinary government and commercial R&D projects within our Emerging Technologies portfolio. This role will require critical contributions and support to quantum gravity and radiofrequency sensing solutions.

Location

This position is a full-time role based in our Louisville, CO office.

Job Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities outlined below include essential functions of the role. Depending on business needs, this role may perform a combination of some or all the following duties. Additional duties may also arise.

  1. Work with internal teams and customers throughout multiple programs to develop and manage system architectures, subsystem functions, and interface requirements for quantum technology platforms—such as sensors, clocks, and control systems.
  2. Establish standardized system engineering practices and processes to support programs ranging from deep technology R&D to early product development.
  3. Collaborate with team members across the company to refine and update our Product Lifecycle (PLC) policy and workflows to optimize efficiency and process value.
  4. Ensure the uniform application of systems engineering tools (e.g., Jama) and methods across projects.
  5. For selected key R&D projects:
    1. Define scope of internal PLC and associated deliverables.
    2. Support and track execution of tasks and deliverables through the phases of the PLC.
    3. Prepare and support gate reviews with the project team.
    4. Provide systems engineering expertise for selected key projects.
    5. Create core systems engineering documents (requirements, interface control, architecture, test plans, etc.).
    6. Work with multi-functional teams to maintain system configuration and documentation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, physics, or a technology-related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant and progressive experience in a similar role, with demonstrated systems engineering expertise.
  • Experience with productization and Product Life Cycle processes.
  • Ability to learn the technical details of complex hardware and software systems development to drive integration, testing, and qualification processes.
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills, to work effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Comfortable working in a highly collaborative, cross-functional, team-oriented, and matrixed environment.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in engineering, science, physics, or a related technology field.
  • Experience with advanced technologies and high-tech products, especially those combining mechanical, electrical, RF, optics, and software components.
  • Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools; experience with Jama software is a plus.
  • Experience with deployed systems and sensors, particularly for space-based applications (LEO, MEO, ISS, etc.).

Up to 10% travel may be required.
