Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space in King of Prussia, PA is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the Echo Program Area, contributing across the lifecycle from requirements and design to verification and test.   • Within LM Space, the Echo Program Area is looking for a highly motivated individual to join the program area as a Systems Engineer. This exciting position will fill a critical need in the new and emerging area of protecting space assets.

  • As part of an team, you will have the opportunity during your time on the program to work on Systems Engineer tasks across the full range of the Systems Engineer "V" from requirements and design to verification and everything in between including conops development, interface definition, integration and test, analysis, and planning. You will collaborate with the development teams, other contractors, customers, and other subject matter experts.

  • You will work closely with your team's Product Owner, Scrum Master, and Associate Chief Engineer to support customer demos and various other milestone events.


This position provides the opportunity to be a part of the entire engineering life-cycle, where the candidate will be able to apply their Systems Engineering background at the lowest level all the way up through full system functionality. Selected candidate must have a Top Secret security clearance prior to start.


Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.


This position is contingent upon the program award expected in the Aug/Sept 2026.



Basic Qualifications


  • Experience with Systems Engineering concepts with knowledge in at least 2 or more of the following:

    • requirements management

    • architecture design

    • test and verification

    • conops development

    • interface definition

    • analysis

    • risk management



  • Experience producing quality technical documentation (e.g. procedures, test documentation, training materials, design documentation)

  • Active TS security clearance to start and the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance. Thus US Citizenship is required

  • Experience with requirements verification, feature test, and/or unit test

  • Experience with CONOPS development

  • Experience working on an scrum team

  • Experience with automated test

  • Experience with DevSecOps

  • Experience with Cloud technologies and/or Software Factory

  • Full development lifecycle experience

  • Outstanding teamwork and communications skills

  • Experience with LM’s products Horizon and Astrolabe

  • Active TS/SCI clearance

  • Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $79300.00 - $147300.00

Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.


For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
