Job summary

Noblis is seeking a Systems Engineer in Washington, DC to support FHWA ITS programs. You will contribute to systems engineering content, requirements, and interoperability testing while coordinating with standards bodies and deployment programs.

The role emphasizes analytical skills, written and oral communication, and collaboration with government agencies on surface transportation technologies and V2X initiatives. Remote/hybrid status may vary with requirements.

Qualifications

• BS in a related technical area (Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Information Systems, Transportation Engineering, etc.)
• Strong analytical ability required
• Experience in developing products and systems (hardware, software, or both)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required
• Strong professional, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Experience with transportation systems
• U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident with at least 3 years residency in the United States

Responsibilities

• Systems engineering content development, to include concepts of operations, requirements, and system design elements
• Analysis of SE documentation developed by Standards Development Organizations (SDOs), ITS Funded Deployment Programs
• SE analysis of user needs, requirements and design detail; performing traceability checks and thread assessments
• Developing white papers and presentations on topics relevant to SE
• Evaluating standards deployment outreach tools
• Reviewing project specifications and design documents to determine their conformance to ITS standards
• Planning, developing and executing interoperability field tests on ITS technologies
