Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Systems Engineer-IT to join an Agile team focusing on IT Infrastructure (Systems Administration, Networking, & Hardware) in the Charlie Program Area. The role supports Windows and Linux administration, scripting, patching, and security. A US citizen with an active clearance is required.

This position requires strong collaboration across teams, design of new IT capabilities, and ensuring uptime for development and operations in a mission-critical environment.

Qualifications

  • Active DOD 8570 certificate required.
  • Current Top Secret security clearance with ability to obtain SCI.
  • 3+ years of IT administration experience.
  • Experience managing hypervisors (OpenStack, Hyper-V, VMWare).
  • Scripting with bash, PowerShell, Python, etc.
  • Experience with RHEL 9, Windows 11/Server 2022, and network devices.
  • IT security hardening experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Strong system architecture and design skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform system planning, integration, verification and validation.
  • Conduct cost, risk, and supportability analyses for total IT systems.
  • Translate requirements into hardware and software specifications.
  • Perform functional and timeline analyses and interface definitions.
  • Design and implement new IT capabilities and patches.
  • Maintain networks and storage for development and operations.
  • Support user interactions and ensure high uptime.

The Space Security Division within Lockheed Martin Space’s Mission Solutions business area is seeking a talented and dedicated Systems Engineer-IT to become a member of an Agile team focused on IT Infrastructure (Systems Administration, Networking, & Hardware) in the Charlie Program Area.

Selected candidate must be a US Citizen. This position requires a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems, and information technology related responsibilities including design, development, and analysis of computer systems or programs based on and related to user or system design specifications; applying systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that do not perform IT responsibilities, use E146, Systems Engineer.

Basic Qualifications
  • Currently hold an active DOD 8570 certificate (Security+, etc.)
  • Currently hold an active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain an SCI security clearance
  • 3+ years of experience with IT administration
  • Experience managing hypervisors such as RedHat OpenStack, Hyper-V, or VMWare
  • Scripting with bash, PowerShell, python, etc.
  • Experience with managing RHEL 9, Windows 11 and Server 2022, and network equipment
  • Experience with IT system security hardening
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Proficiency in System architecture and design

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00
