Job summary

The International Code Council is seeking a Systems Engineer to oversee the operation and maintenance of hardware, software, and related infrastructure in Birmingham, AL. You will monitor health, diagnose issues, perform upgrades, and participate in DR planning.

Responsibilities include patching, antivirus management, AD administration, and Tier 2 desktop support. A degree in a technical field and 3–5 years of systems administration experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of systems administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server platforms (2016–2025).
• Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Experience with Hyper-V Failover Clustering and SAN/NAS environments.
• Familiarity with Office 365 including Entra, Teams, Exchange, SharePoint, Purview, Intune.

Responsibilities

• Manages, maintains, and monitors infrastructure services.
• Configures hardware, peripherals, services, and storage per standards and requirements.
• Deploys patches and updates for software and operating systems.
• Maintains anti-virus and anti-malware systems and backups.
• Creates, changes, and removes AD users and resources as requested.
• Provides Tier 2 support for desktops and production software.
• Coordinates infrastructure projects and maintains schedules.
• Manages vendor and maintenance agreements.
