Job summary

RTX is seeking a qualified Systems Engineer to support the MCVC at White Sands NM. You will help test and validate MFMS hardware, perform calibrations, analyze radar data, and diagnose issues during operations. Occasional travel to CONUS/OCONUS locations is required.

The role requires a STEM degree and at least 2 years of engineering experience, with familiarity in UNIX/Linux, instrumentation, and RF equipment. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DoD clearance are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and at least 2 years of engineering experience.
  • Experience with IF and/or RF equipment, IHawk computer, digital logic, and peripheral hardware.
  • Experience with UNIX and/or Linux.
  • Experience with instrumentation and test equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, spectrum analyzer).
  • MATLAB experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct system interface, monitoring, analysis, troubleshooting, repair, modifications, and verification to ensure operational equipment performance.
  • Perform calibrations of the system hardware to ensure tolerances for real-time operations.
  • Provide quick resolution of system problems/failures that occur during operations.

The Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Mission Capability and Verification Center (MCVC) located on White Sands Missile Range, NM is searching for a qualified Systems Engineer to join the team. They will provide support to the Mobile Flight Mission Simulator (MFMS) hardware, operations, integration, test, and evaluation. The candidate will work in an engineering environment to support and facilitate testing of engineering hardware in accordance with customer and internal requirements and industry standards. Occasional travel within the United States and internationally is required.

What You Will Do

Conduct system interface, monitoring, analysis, troubleshooting, repair, modifications, and verification to ensure operational equipment performance. Perform calibrations of the system hardware to ensure systems are within tolerance for critical real-time operations. Provide quick resolution of system problems/failures that occur during operations. Analyze radar and MFMS data test results and data collection activities. Some travel to remote and domestic locations -CONUS and OCONUS to support program requirements, anticipated travel around 15%. Other tasks as required for program and/or company support.

Qualifications

Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior engineering experience

Experience with IF and/or RF equipment, IHawk computer, digital logic, and peripheral hardware

Experience with UNIX and/or Linux.

Experience with instrumentation, and/or test equipment, i.e (oscilloscope, multi-meter and/or spectrum analyzer)

Qualifications We Prefer Experience with MATLAB Thorough knowledge of analog/digital hardware design and related firmware Ability to work in a team environment, multi-task, work under stress, and be flexible to support across multiple disciplines May require long hours and/or weekend work, travel for periods of time between domestic locations and to remote sites in support of program requirements Ability to work in remote and hazardous location.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
