Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a Systems Engineer II, Product Development within the Cranial & Spinal Technologies (CST) organization. You will design, develop, test, and document innovative system solutions for powered surgical systems, imaging, and robotics to improve patient outcomes.

You will work with cross-functional teams to define needs, create use cases, and plan evaluations in lab surgical environments, while mitigating risks and driving design practices across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Science discipline with 2 years of relevant experience OR a Master’s degree.
• Experience in the medical device industry and/or surgical techniques.
• Experience in Systems Engineering: stakeholder needs, use cases, requirements, and architecture.
• Experience with hardware design, CAD, tolerance analysis, and prototyping.
• Project management skills, including leading a project team and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and document product and system solutions using hardware and software components.
• Define user needs, business needs, use cases, requirements, and system architecture for new development.
• Plan and execute user evaluations in lab-based surgical environments to gather feedback.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks, hazards, and failure modes throughout development.
• Provide technical leadership and clinical procedure SME to cross-functional teams.
