Job summary

Collins Aerospace, a RTX company, seeks a Systems/Software engineer to design, develop, and test flight management software for military avionics on aircraft.

You will work with a team of engineers to integrate flight management systems and demonstrate robust software for defense applications.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience with C, C++, DOORS, ADA, and/or Python.
  • 2+ years of experience in a Systems role.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test software features for flight management systems integrated into military helicopters and planes.
  • Grow knowledge of Systems Engineering and Flight Management Systems.
  • Integrate leadership and communication into a dynamic environment delivering quality, timely products to customers.
  • Travel (domestic and international) up to 10% as needed.

CAAS/Flight 2 Flight Management Solutions - Our signature products for Military Avionics as part of the Collins Integrated Avionics System, fielded on thousands of aircraft today, at this moment. What You Will Do
  • Work within a team of Systems and Software engineers to design, develop, and test software features for flight management systems that are integrated into military helicopters and planes.
  • Grow knowledge of Systems Engineering and Flight Management Systems.
  • Integrate soft skills (leadership, communication, coordination, proactiveness) into a dynamic environment that provides quality and timely products to internal and external customers.
  • Travel (domestic and international <10%) as needed.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience with C, C++, DOORS, ADA, and/or Python.
  • 2+ years of experience in a Systems role.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Industry Experience of Software Lifecycle Development (Design, Requirements, Integration, Test).
  • Pilot/Avionics Experience (i.e. Private Pilot, Aircraft Maintenance, DO-178 Certification).
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance if needed after day 1.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
