Job summary

Lessen is seeking an experienced IT Server Administrator to configure, implement, and administer the organization’s server hardware, operating systems, applications and integrations. You will analyze complex problems, maintain security, and work with IT leadership to design scalable architectures across on-premises and enterprise environments.

The role emphasizes high reliability, incident response, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support business operations and growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field or equivalent experience.
• Microsoft Certification or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of IT experience supporting complex computer/system environments.
• 3-5 years on a helpdesk.
• 3-5 years’ experience with Ethernet network environment and peripherals.
• Experience with Cisco Unified Communications Solutions; Voice Over IP.
• Experience with VMware or Hyper-V virtualization.
• Windows Server 2008 R2 to 2016 and Exchange 2010 to 2016 or Office 365.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery concepts and customer service support monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

• Performs server configuration, implementation, maintenance and support in line with IT security and audit policies.
• Responsible for the integrity, resilience and security of assigned systems.
• Work with IT managers to plan, develop, design and strategize an architecture benefiting the organization.
• Assist in developing the technology architecture including hardware, software, networking, systems and support processes.
• Help troubleshoot system, network and voice hardware and software problems.
• Assist in management of Cisco UC solutions; VoIP, Call Manager, Voicemail, and Call Center.
• Assist in assessing new technologies appropriate to the company’s mission.
• Provide support for more technically complex issues escalated from Helpdesk.
• Configure, document, implement and troubleshoot Microsoft server OS, Email systems, SAN, backups and anti-virus/spam products.
• Provide after-hours support and on-site emergency response as needed.
• Troubleshoot server hardware OS and enterprise applications; maintain messaging and storage infrastructure.
• Collaborate on network concepts, structure and connectivity design.
• Assist with daily backup of server data and offsite storage administration.
• Foster a positive team environment and guide team dynamics.
• Ensure confidentiality of internal and external data.
• Perform ad-hoc projects as needed.
• Some travel as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
