Job summary

Papillion La Vista Community Schools is seeking a Classified Specialist with strong Systems Engineer skills to design, administer, and secure a district server environment, including cloud platforms and directory services. You will manage device fleets, SSO, and software deployment across Windows, Apple, and Chrome ecosystems.

The role requires advanced scripting with PowerShell/Python and collaboration with Network and HR teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in a technical field or related experience.
• Industry certifications in Microsoft/Windows Server, VMware, Google Workspace, or AWS/Azure preferred.
• Experience in server administration (physical and virtual), identity management, Active Directory, software distribution, and cybersecurity.
• Advanced scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, etc.) for automated system administration; strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• System, server & endpoint management across physical and virtual environments.
• Implement and maintain identity management, AD/Google Workspace, and SSO environments.
• Manage employee and student account lifecycles with Technology, Business, Curriculum, and HR.
• Configure infrastructure for security systems, CCTV, video storage, and access control.
• Package, test, and distribute software across Windows, Apple, and Chrome fleets.
• Lead OS upgrades and patch management schedules for district devices.
• Oversee email, web filtering, spam/malware protection, and server security policies.
• Collaborate with Network Engineer on system upgrades and backups.
• Develop and test backup and disaster recovery plans.
• Assist capacity planning for server storage, VM allocation, and cloud resources.
• Provide general IT support and monitor tickets; pursue continuous improvements.
• Occasional night/weekend work for maintenance; perform other duties as assigned.
