Job summary

Reinventing Geospatial, Inc. (RGi) is seeking a Systems Engineer to lead Linux and Windows system administration within secure DoD environments, ensuring high availability and compliance.

You will provide Tier II/III support, manage virtualization (VMware, KVM), and develop automation with Ansible, PowerShell, Bash, and Python, while coordinating with cybersecurity and network teams to maintain secure operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 8–12 years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 6–10 years of relevant experience.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II or III certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CASP+, CISSP).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government) and hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience with Linux (RHEL or CentOS) and Windows Server administration.
• Proficiency with virtualization (VMware, KVM) and management tools.
• Experience with automation and scripting (Ansible, Bash, PowerShell, Python).
• Familiarity with STIG compliance, system hardening, ACAS scans, and RMF processes.
• Strong understanding of enterprise networking, IAM, and storage concepts.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot, document, and lead systems-related projects independently.
• Experience supporting IC or DoD classified environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead administration of Linux and Windows systems in secure, mission-critical environments.
• Provide Tier II/III technical support, resolving hardware, software, and user issues via tickets.
• Manage server, storage, and virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM).
• Install, configure, harden, and patch systems in compliance with DoD STIGs and security policies.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and perform root cause analysis.
• Support backup, disaster recovery, and continuity of operations.
• Develop and maintain automation using Ansible, PowerShell, Bash, and related tools.
• Maintain system documentation, configuration baselines, and CM/RM artifacts.
• Lead system modernization, deployments, and infrastructure enhancements.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity, network, and development teams to ensure secure operations.
• Support security audits, incident response, and operational readiness.
