Job summary

WITTENSTEIN North America is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the WMC Inc. team in a hybrid role, located in Bartlett, IL. The engineer will support motor control simulation, CAN Bus and EtherCAT integration, and PID tuning while contributing to proposal writing and technical documentation.

The candidate should have a B.Eng. in Electrical or Software Engineering and 3+ years in a related field, with strong skills in Simulink, Matlab, and embedded software. Some travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Software Engineering (B.Eng.) required.
• 3+ years in a similar systems engineering role in a defense/aerospace context preferred.
• Ability to manage both technical and commercial concerns.
• Strong technical writing and customer-facing skills.
• Experience with design reviews, documentation, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support motor control simulation software.
• Integrate motor control loops with CAN Bus, EtherCAT, and Ethernet.
• Tune control loading systems to customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot on-site or remotely from WMC facility.
• Prepare system architecture diagrams, block diagrams, schematics, and ICDs.
• Assist in proposal writing and technical documentation.
• Travel up to 25% (including international).
• Collaborate with SMEs across disciplines to meet performance requirements.
