Job summary

RTX is seeking students for internships/co-ops and future full-time roles in Cedar Rapids to design, develop and test software features for distributed systems used in helicopters and airplanes.

Join a collaborative team of systems and software engineers, while building skills in requirements, integration, and flight-management software. Domestic/international travel is possible, with onsite work at RTX facilities.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
• Experience with C, C++, ADA, and/or Python is preferred.
• Pilot/Avionics experience (e.g. Private Pilot, Aircraft Maintenance, DO-178 Certification) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test software features for software solutions integrated into helicopters and planes.
• Collaborate with Systems and Software engineers to ensure high-quality, timely products for internal and external customers.
• Travel domestically and internationally (<10%) as needed.

What You Will Do

• Work within a team of Systems and Software engineers to design, develop, and test software features for software solutions that are integrated into helicopters and planes
• Integrate soft skills (leadership, communication, coordination, proactiveness) into a dynamic environment that provides quality and timely products to internal and external customers.
• Travel (domestic and international <10%) as needed.

Relocation Eligibility

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. Compensation

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
