Job summary

Cloudflare, Inc. is seeking a senior engineer for its Browser Isolation team in the United States. You will work on Chromium-based components, distributed services, and security-conscious features, collaborating across Go, Rust, and TypeScript.

The role emphasizes performance, reliability, and scalable infrastructure, with on-call rotation after onboarding and opportunities to contribute to cutting-edge web security and privacy.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering production software in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of memory management, lifetimes and concurrency.
• Familiarity with Linux/UNIX system concepts and tooling.
• Experience with distributed systems and service-to-service communication.
• Ability to navigate unfamiliar codebases and deliver scoped features.
• Willingness to learn Rust, Go, and TypeScript in a complex stack.

Responsibilities

• Own well-scoped features from design to production follow-up.
• Develop and maintain C++ code in Chromium-based browser; contribute across Go, Rust, TypeScript components.
• Debug failures across browser processes, Linux hosts, and distributed services.
• Improve session reliability, startup time, latency, and resource efficiency with measurements.
• Write maintainable code, tests, and design notes; participate in reviews.
• Collaborate with teams, communicate trade-offs and blockers, incorporate feedback.
• Join on-call rotation after onboarding and contribute to incident follow-ups.
