Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking a senior software engineer for our Browser Isolation team in Denver, CO. You will design, implement, and own multi‑component browser and distributed services work, collaborating across Go, Rust, and TypeScript stacks to ship reliable features.

You’ll measure impact through production outcomes, improve security boundaries, and drive durable fixes while mentoring teammates and raising the bar on engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Strong production C++ proficiency with memory and resource management.
• Experience leading complex systems across multiple components.
• Solid Linux/UNIX networking fundamentals.
• Experience designing distributed systems with service boundaries and fault tolerance.
• Ability to communicate trade-offs clearly and mentor teammates.
• Willingness to work across C++, Rust, Go, and TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, multi‑component initiatives from definition to production outcomes.
• Design and implement changes in our Chromium‑based browser and distributed services across Go, Rust, and TypeScript.
• Explain architectural trade‑offs across latency, availability, security boundaries, and operational complexity.
• Investigate cross‑layer failures and performance bottlenecks across browser, host, network, and control‑plane.
• Improve resilience, observability, and release safety; define success metrics.
• Coordinate work with partner teams, surface dependencies and risks early, and guide delivery.
• Mentor engineers and raise the quality of code reviews, design reviews, testing, and documentation.
• Participate in the team’s production on‑call rotation after onboarding and drive durable corrective actions.
