Job summary

DCCA is seeking a Systems Engineer 3 to support a high-profile HPC program in Maryland. The candidate must hold an active TS/SCI with poly and will help develop and maintain architectural direction for HPC compute, memory, interconnect, network, and storage solutions to meet mission requirements.

In this role you will deliver end-to-end systems engineering services across the development and acquisition life cycle, documenting architecture choices and aligning them with program goals while

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI w/Poly is required.
• Experience designing and maintaining HPC architectures.
• Familiarity with compute, memory, interconnect, and storage for HPC.
• Proficient with JIRA, Confluence, and HPC tooling such as CAMEO.
• Ability to work in a government-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop test and configuration management strategies for HPC systems.
• Create and deliver architecture documentation (FRD/SRD, CONOPs).
• Propose and evolve HPC concepts and ensure alignment with vendor roadmaps.
• Analyze alternatives among architectures and justify selections.
• Document architectures with diagrams showing structure and function.
• Support life-cycle activities from development to acquisition.

The candidate would support the HPC team efforts to develop and maintain architectural direction and methods of HPC systems to include aspects of compute, memory, interconnect, network, and storage architectures to meet current and future mission requirements. The candidate will support the development, test, and integration of commercial and custom HPC computing solutions as needed to support the overall HPC mission. Support and provided rigorous end-to-end systems engineering services through the entire HPC development and acquisition life-cycle. Specific activities may include:

• Develop test and configuration management strategies tailoring for each system
• Contribute to and/or deliver systems engineering documentation at both program and system level to include FRD/SRD, Security CONOPs etc
• Propose and evolve HPC Architecture Concepts such as:
• Propose and evolve HPC Architectural concepts and features.
• Ensure consistency with strategic plans and commercial vendor roadmaps.
• Analyze and document alternatives among competing architectures.
• Justify architectural elements based on mission applications and proxies.
• Deliver documentation architecture, including descriptions of unique architectural features and diagrams that illustrate structure and functions of architectural features and diagrams that illustrate structure and functions of architectures.
• Specify, recommend, and/or analyze various aspects of HPC systems including
• Processor and/or Accelerator technology, features, and performance
• Interconnect and network performance, fabric topology, technology, features and performance, including applicability for specific algorithms of interest.
• Memory capacity and bandwidth.
• Storage hierarchy, capacity, technology, and performance.
• HPC-facing network structure, technology, features, and performance
• Manufacturability, reliability, availability, serviceability, sustainability.
• Establish, expand, and/or focus the mission application performance of each architecture concept, supported by abstract modeling where appropriate.
• Additional skills: Ability to use JIRA, Confluence, CAMEO Certifications CompTIA Security+ and CompTIA Network+
• The proposed salary range for this position in Maryland is 120,000 to 200,000.
• Final salary will be determined based on various factors.
