Job summary

DCCA is seeking a System Engineer Level 6 to support a high-profile government program from Maryland. The role requires an active TS/SCI with poly and experience in systems engineering across DoDAF-based architectures.

You will work on technical documentation, system requirements, and cross-discipline coordination. The position offers growth within a veteran-owned IT business with comprehensive benefits and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

  • Experience correlating telemetry with system behavior and failure data.
  • Familiarity with HPC environments and large-scale systems engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
  • Manages system requirements and derived requirements to ensure delivery of production systems compatible with the defined system architecture(s) – DoDAF, Service-oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Assists with allocation of requirements to hardware, software, facility, and personnel components.
  • Coordinates resolution of action items from CCB meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews requiring cross-discipline coordination.
  • Perform analysis of technical alternatives for a project and make preliminary recommendations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Contributes to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents
  • Manages system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s) - Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Service-oriented Architecture.
  • Assists with the allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components.
  • Coordinates the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews that require cross-discipline coordination.
  • Perform analysis of technical alternatives for a project and make preliminary recommendations.
Requirements
  • Will correlate events/telemetry visible in dashboards to system issues
  • Rationalize and document system behavior in the presence of system issues; derive insights from the data
  • Design experiments to isolate and characterize specific types of behavior
  • Collaborate with analytic developers to capture needs for analytics
  • Monitor dashboards for abnormal behavior
  • Must have Linux, experience designing technical experiments, an analytic mindset, understand system telemetry and its correlation on system operation, failure rate and reliability analysis of components, and clearly must have experience with complex HPC systems
  • A High School Diploma or GED plus twenty-four (24) years of general systems engineering experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus twenty (20) years of systems engineering experience
  • A Master's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus eighteen (18) years of systems engineering experience
  • A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus eighteen (18) years of systems engineering experience.

The proposed salary range for this position in Maryland is 180,000 to 240,000. Final salary will be determined based on various factors.
