Job summary

CSS Inc. is seeking a Systems Engineer to perform advanced systems administration, configuration and troubleshooting across LANs to enterprise WANs in the USA.

Responsibilities include supporting infrastructure, security enhancements, cross-team collaboration, and project rollout across multiple platforms.   • 3–10 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Excellent management and communication skills.
  • Experience in administration, configuration and troubleshooting of cloud infrastructure.
  • Azure experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong cloud networking, systems and security expertise.
  • Geospatial software experience preferred.
  • On-site government agency support experience preferred.
  • Ability to pass National Agency Check (NACI).

  • Monitor and tune platforms for availability and performance.
  • Mentor junior engineers and team members.

Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Perform systems administration, configuration, and troubleshooting for advanced computer hardware and software at a technical level from small LANs, multiple locations to enterprise WANs.
  • Support physical infrastructure and equipment selection to final software interoperability.
  • Implement network modification and enhancement to pre-existing systems and network security measures.
  • Provide input to and collaborate with cross-organizational teams.
  • May lead teams and working groups that assess needs and develop solutions that satisfy functional requirements.
  • Develop, maintain and support technical infrastructure, hardware, and system software components for mid- to large-sized projects.
  • Perform installation, maintenance and support of system software/hardware and user support.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems with minimal guidance.
  • Perform engineering and roll-out implementation, configuration, debugging and support for multiple platforms.
  • Monitor and tune platforms to ensure expected availability and performance levels are achieved.
  • May oversee or mentor junior engineers and team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 3-10 years of relevant professional experience
  • Excellent management and communication skills.
  • Significant experience in the administration, configuration and troubleshooting of the cloud infrastructure and its components
  • Expertise and demonstrated experience with cloud computing environments; Microsoft Azure expertise is preferred, but not required.
  • Expertise and demonstrated experience with cloud networking, systems, and security
  • Expertise with commercial and open-source geospatial software preferred.
  • Prior experience with on-site government agency support preferred
  • Ability to pass a National Agency Check (NACI) and maintain it throughout the duration of employment.
