Job summary

TEKsystems in San Diego, CA, is seeking a SolarWinds Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain the Orion suite for the Naval Enterprise Networks program. You will work with enterprise architects and engineers on NPM, SAM, NCM, SRM, IPAM, NTA, VMAN and related components.

This contract role requires secret clearance and expertise in Splunk, VMware, Windows/Linux, PowerShell, Python, and cloud tech, plus the ability to document guidelines and train operations teams.

Qualifications

• Expert level experience with SolarWinds Orion suite and related components.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, CS, or Engineering; CASP/CISSP preferred.
• Ability to work in a contract role with Navy networks and security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain, and configure SolarWinds Orion products (NPM/SAM/NCM/SRM/IPAM/WPM/NTA/VMAN).
• Collaborate with enterprise architects and engineers for Splunk, VMware, OS environments.
• Create training and documentation for operations teams; act as SolarWinds SME.

Description

OVERVIEW

• Program = Naval Enterprise Networks (NEN) Engineering Support Services (ESS)
• TEKsystems is a named sub contractor under the prime Booz Allen
• This work is supporting ONE-Net, which is the enterprise network used by the US Navy for their Naval base locations outside the continental United States (OCONUS)

PROJECT

• There is a planned SolarWinds upgrade/refresh that the team will begin supporting in the next few months
• Objectives are to architect, engineer and deploy the latest version of SolarWinds Orion platform
• There is an existing SolarWinds team in place but we need additional support
• In this role, the SolarWinds Systems Engineer will focus on designing, implementing, maintaining, and configuring the SolarWinds Orion suite of products including
  • Network Performance Monitor (NPM)
  • Server and Application Monitor (SAM)
  • and other Orion components, including...
  • Network Configuration Manager (NCM)
  • Storage Resource Monitor (SRM)
  • IP Address Manager (IPAM)
  • Web Performance Monitor (WPM)
  • Network Traffic Analyzer (NTA), and
  • Virtual Manager (VMAN)
• As the SolarWinds Systems Engineer, you must be able to
  • work effectively with the enterprise architects and engineers for technologies such as Splunk, VMWare, or OS
  • create and provide training to operations teams
  • develop guidelines and documentation
  • serve as a subject matter expert for the SolarWinds monitoring solution

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $90.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
