The successful candidate will be a strong technical communicator who can connect contractual requirements, engineering design activities, system interfaces, verification evidence, configuration-controlled data, and customer deliverables throughout a program’s lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Derive, document, decompose, allocate, and maintain system-level requirements from Statements of Work, customer specifications, technical documentation, and program objectives.
- Develop and maintain requirements traceability from customer and contractual requirements through design, analysis, integration, test, verification, and final engineering deliverables.
- Working closely with engineering team leads to ensure designs provide objective evidence of compliance with customer expectations, technical requirements, and contractual obligations.
- Support the technical development and integration of multidisciplinary engineering systems, including coordination among mechanical, aerospace, electrical, manufacturing, design, and program teams, as applicable.
- Lead the development, maintenance, and coordination of Interface Control Documents (ICDs), interface requirements, and interface-related technical communications among internal teams, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Support systems integration, verification, validation, and test-planning activities, as applicable to assigned programs.
- Coordinate with the Configuration Manager to maintain configuration-controlled engineering data, including technical baselines, deliverable indices, drawing trees, Bills of Materials (BOMs), revision status, and other program documentation.
- Support engineering change-control activities and help ensure released technical data is accurate, complete, traceable, and maintained in accordance with project and company procedures.
- Support engineering team leads in planning, preparing for, and executing customer and internal milestone reviews.
- Verify that required milestone entrance and exit criteria are met and that engineering review packages, technical data, analyses, drawings, reports, and other deliverables are complete and properly controlled.
- Track engineering and contractual deliverables; identify schedule, technical, documentation, interface, or compliance risks; and support timely resolution with engineering leads and program stakeholders.
- Support contract transition-out and closeout activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring engineering deliverables are completed, approved, controlled, archived, and transferred in accordance with contractual and customer requirements.
- Promote Systems Engineering principles and best practices throughout the design process, including requirements management, interface control, technical-risk management, configuration management, verification planning, and lifecycle documentation.
- Assist in establishing, implementing, maintaining, and improving ATS processes and procedures related to Systems Engineering, configuration management, quality control, engineering documentation, and technical operations.
- Interface directly and professionally with customers, engineering teams, program leadership, suppliers, and other technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications

- Experience supporting multidisciplinary engineering design, development, integration, test, verification, or technical-data deliverables.
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from Statements of Work, technical specifications, engineering drawings, interface documentation, and contractual deliverable requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information clearly with customers and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and project-coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple engineering deliverables and priorities.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related engineering field.
- Active Secret DoD security clearance.
- Experience supporting Department of Defense, aerospace, missile defense, government-contract, or other highly regulated engineering programs.
- Experience supporting formal technical and program milestone reviews, such as System Requirements Reviews (SRRs), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), or equivalent customer reviews.
- Experience with requirements management and Systems Engineering tools, including IBM DOORS, DOORS Next, Cameo Systems Modeler, or similar tools.
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), SysML, system architecture development, or related modeling methods.
- Experience building system models in Cameo a strong plus
- Familiarity with configuration management, technical baseline management, engineering change control, Interface Control Documents, drawing trees, Bills of Materials, technical-data packages, and quality-management processes.
- Experience developing or maintaining verification matrices, requirements traceability matrices, interface matrices, compliance matrices, or engineering-deliverable matrices.
