Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Systems Development Engineer I to own and advance mission-critical services in our ADC. You will build, deploy, and operate large-scale systems for government customers, with a focus on resilience, performance, and automation.

The role requires strong Linux/Networking fundamentals, programming experience, and an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. You will work within AIS on a fast-paced, startup-like team culture in a global cloud infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Experience automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure.
• Programming experience in Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
• Experience with Linux/Unix and networking.
• 1+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 1+ years designing or architecting scalable systems.
• Current Top Secret with SCI eligibility clearance.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and delivery of resilient, high-performance systems for government customers.
• Work on defined components and technology solutions with guidance toward autonomy.
• Identify architectural deficiencies and contribute to solutions with senior engineers.
• Participate in design, scoping, and prioritization discussions and understand costs.
• Review architecture, design, operations, and post-incident analysis for your team.
• Troubleshoot problems by researching root causes and resolving defects.
• Take part in on-call rotation to support mission-critical services.
