Job summary

Amazon Leo is seeking a Systems Development Engineer for environmental testing, owning fiber optic and RF test systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will design-for-test, calibrate measurement chains, and help production ramp with automation strategies.

The role sits at the intersection of hardware, software, and production operations, requiring hands-on testing experience and ability to bridge design and production.

Qualifications

  • Experience programming in at least one modern language (Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust).
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical/aerospace engineering, CS or related field.
  • 2+ years testing complex aerospace, consumer electronics systems.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and automated scripts.
  • Hands-on testing fiber optic and RF components on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on testing of fiber optic/photonic components and RF components with instrumentation.
  • Integrate optical and RF instrumentation into automated environmental test racks.
  • Troubleshoot test scripts, hardware setups, and measurement paths.
  • Develop automation strategies to increase test stability and resiliency.
  • Review calibration references and maintain measurement integrity.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams on design-for-test.
  • Read and troubleshoot automated scripts and handle exceptions.
  • Define process parameters and implement SPC and poka-yoke techniques.
