Base pay range

75.00 / hr - $80.00 / hr

Position : Systems Architect

Location : Remote - Should be able to work in all timezones

Duration : 6 month contract to hire

Compensation : $75 / hr. $80 / hr.

Work Authorization : US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.

What you will do

• Develops internal and external documentation for strategic planning, return on investment, cost comparison, pro and con analysis, design specification, and other purposes as needed.
• Performs configurations, installations, upgrades, testing, tuning, support, and other implementation-related tasks. Supports business development efforts by designing solutions, creating statement of work content, estimating levels of effort, and generating project schedules for general proposals as well as Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Information (RFI), and Request for Qualifications (RFQ) responses.
• Designs new systems and modernizes existing systems, both for company and for customers.
• Serves as an enterprise system subject matter expert by conducting requirements workshops, asking appropriate questions about GIS utility workflows, creating high-level and detailed architectural diagrams depicting the various aspects of a system, estimating proper system sizing, determining proper system configuration, and building comprehensive design specification documentation.
• Leads and contributes to GIS Enterprise Architecture workshops and related discussions involving utility customers.
• Provides overall technical expertise for system design, implementation, assessment, consulting, and managed service engagements.
• Manages technical deliverables for projects and the Practice Area.
• Facilitates and participates in GIS road mapping workshops for utility customers.
• Authors company system architecture specification document for deployments.
• Generates comprehensive cost estimates and Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) budgetary estimates.
• Provides technical guidance and consulting for company clients to embrace security in their datacenters.
• Ensures system solutions and deliverables are thoroughly tested, vetted, reviewed, and meet customer expectations.
• Trains company onshore and offshore personnel to manage GIS infrastructure resources.
• Serves as a mentor for others interested in enterprise system technologies.

What we look for from you

• 11-16 years of work experience in enterprise system consulting and large-scale technology projects, preferably for utility customers.
• 6-11 years of work experience in enterprise GIS with a combination of system design, Enterprise Architecture, system implementation, and system administration.
• Thorough background in deploying, configuring, administering, and supporting Esri ArcGIS products.
• In-depth implementation experience with datacenter virtualization and hypervisor platforms.

Education

• Bachelors Degree from an accredited postsecondary institution in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related discipline.

Certifications

• Active and maintained associate-level technology certification from at least one major vendor or relevant industry organization.

Location

• We anticipate business travel could be up to 50% at times.
