Job summary

Cook County State's Attorney Office is seeking a System Analyst to lead requirements gathering, development, testing, and implementation across multiple applications. You will coordinate with MIS, Data, and Infrastructure teams, ensure SDLC discipline, and engage with partner agencies for data interchange.

The role emphasizes data architecture, documentation, and collaboration to deliver robust solutions while maintaining confidentiality and aligning with agency goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in IT/Data fields.
• 3 years of experience with SQL Server databases.
• 3 years building and maintaining data pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of data structures and system design.
• Excellent communication and self-teaching abilities.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Experience with data management/analysis and relational data.
• Ability to work iteratively and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business units to design, develop, and improve applications.
• Apply relational database best practices: keys, deletes, timestamps, data normalization.
• Create and maintain software documentation, including QA and API docs.
• Develop front-end interfaces grounded in user-centered design.
• Design and implement data replication to a reporting/analytic DB.
• Work with external vendors to develop and implement systems.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality products.
• Train staff on using applications and provide support for maintenance.
• Stay current on latest development technologies and best practices.
• Handle confidential information with strict privacy protocols.
• Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
