Job Description
Understands business objectives and problems, identifies alternative solutions, performs studies and cost/benefit analysis of alternatives. Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing computer systems. Confers with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements, such as data input forms, data summarization, and report formats. Writes detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs. Reviews computer system capabilities, specifications, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested programs or changes are feasible within the existing system.
Additional job details and special considerations
The client is developing an HHS data integration hub with the following goals:
- Implementation and configuration of the infrastructure for the data integration hub
- Design, development, and implementation (DD&I) of the data integration hub using agile methodology across all SDLC phases, including validation of performance metrics, creation of Epics/User Stories/Tasks, automation of data acquisition, development of complex SQL scripts, testing, and deployment
- Operations support and enhancement of the data integration hub
Responsibilities as part of the agile team
- Lead the agile development team as a technical leader
- Acquire data from various sources for multiple uses
- Develop complex SQL scripts for data transformation and create views in Oracle
- Develop automation using Informatica Power Center/IICS for data extraction and transformation
- Collaborate on data design and verify SQL scripts and automation processes
- Develop automated verification and validation tools
- Participate in sprint ceremonies and work with architects on design strategies
- Create mockups and validate with customers
- Address technical issues collaboratively and support tool implementation
- Maintain technical documentation and participate in requirements and design sessions
- Interpret business requirements and propose enhancements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Candidate Skills and Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
- 8+ years of experience developing ETL mappings and workflows with Informatica PowerCenter or IICS
- 8+ years of experience integrating data from multiple sources like Oracle, SQL Server, Excel, Access, and PDF for visualization in Tableau
- 8+ years designing efficient Oracle and Snowflake SQL scripts
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analytics, performance management, or data warehousing
- Proficiency in technical writing, diagramming, and modeling tools (Visio, Erwin), plus MS Office
- Experience in planning and delivering software platforms across organizations
- Experience scripting in Python
- Experience working on an agile sprint team and using JIRA
- Experience developing CI/CD pipelines with GitHub and Git Actions
- Experience as a Mulesoft developer
- Experience as a SAS Viya Administrator
Preferred qualifications include:
- Writing well-designed, testable, efficient code following best practices
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize effectively
- Understanding healthcare data security principles
- Experience with BI environments and web services (REST, SOAP)
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields or equivalent experience
- Prior experience in healthcare, HHS agencies, and working with PII/PHI data
