Recruiting Manager at Luna Data Solutions

We are looking for an ETL Developer for a long-term remote contract to hire opportunity in Austin, Texas. This ETL Developer will need to develop and manage complex ETL processes for dimensional data models using modern data platforms. The ideal candidate will excel in designing automated solutions, adapting to evolving data needs, and maintaining high data quality standards. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for working with key stakeholders and leading technical projects effectively.

Responsibilities:

Development & Design (40%)

• Create and implement ETL programs for intricate dimensional data models using advanced data platforms such as AWS Aurora Postgres and Snowflake.
• Develop and refine data mapping documents to support data integration.
• Design and automate ETL solutions for data cleansing, preparation, validation, and other related processes.

Adaptation & Maintenance (35%)

• Modify ETL programs to align with evolving data models and shifting business requirements.
• Update and enhance ETL programs based on data quality assurance insights and findings.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders, including enterprise data architects, subject matter experts (SMEs), data modelers, and team members.
• Lead complex technical projects, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration with all project stakeholders.

You:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in designing and implementing ETL solutions for complex data models using multiple data sources.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with Informatica Cloud, Python, SQL, and PL/SQL.
• Proven expertise in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for designing ETL solutions and optimizing ETL performance.
• At least 3 years of experience with Oracle and AWS PostgreSQL database environments, including schema architecture.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a solid track record of effective documentation.
• Demonstrated experience in orchestrating and automating database processes.
• Excellent aptitude for troubleshooting and problem-solving.
• Team player with the ability to communicate effectively across functions and management levels.
• Self-motivated with the ability to organize and manage work independently in a rapidly evolving environment.
• Graduate degree in Computer Science or a related field with five years of professional experience as an ETL Developer utilizing Informatica, IBM DataStage, SQL, PL/SQL, and Python (preferred).
• Three years of experience working in a cloud-based data warehouse environment (preferred).
• Experience with multiple types of databases (preferred).
• Experience with high availability database implementations (preferred).
• Basic networking knowledge as it relates to database systems (preferred).
• Informatica and AWS certifications (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Quality Assurance processes, including test case development and execution (preferred).
• Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies, such as Kanban and Scrum (preferred).
• Experience with issue tracking systems, such as JIRA (preferred).
