Job summary

The MIL Corporation seeks a Systems Administrator (Associate) to support a Federal Government client in Patuxent River, MD. The role focuses on managing Windows and Red Hat Linux systems and implementing RMF and STIG controls.

Qualifications

• >7 years of experience in Microsoft Windows and/or Linux System Administration.
• >Active Security+ CE certification or Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP).
• >Extensive knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
• >Knowledge of Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) experience.
• >Familiarity with Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS).
• >Familiarity with the RMF (Risk Management Framework) process.
• >Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• >Flexibility with work schedule to include occasional weekends.
• >Ability to lift/move up to 25-40 lbs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, support and maintain Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Administer and support VMware server/clusters environment.
• Implement RMF methodology on assigned systems.
• Maintain and update OS security patches.
• Maintain system configuration standards using STIGs.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues; coordinate with resources.
• Document maintenance, repairs, and test activities; update documentation.
• Follow change control procedures for new implementations and changes.
• Create and maintain system documentation, diagrams, and SOPs.
• Research and implement automated processes to improve operational efficiency.
• Analyze and monitor system capacity and performance; make improvements as needed.
• Perform other duties and projects assigned.
