Job summary

The MIL Corporation seeks a Systems Administrator (Systems Administration, Associate) to support a Federal Government client in Patuxent River, MD. This role manages Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Linux based computer systems in support of the MQ-25 Carrier-Based Aerial-Refueling System program.

This position currently requires an on-site schedule, with 5 days on-site and is eligible for Compressed Work Schedule (CWS). Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.

Qualifications

  • 7 years of Windows and/or Linux System Administration experience.
  • Active Security+ CE or CISSP certification.
  • Extensive knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and SCCM.
  • Knowledge of SCAP and STIG practices and RMF processes.
  • Familiarity with ACAS
  • Familiarity with RMF process
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with SCIF environment constraints and secure data handling
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be flexible with work schedule including weekends; travel 20-35%

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, administer, support and maintain Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Administer and support VMware server/cluster environment
  • Implement RMF methodology on assigned systems
  • Maintain OS security patches
  • Maintain system configuration standards using STIG
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and coordinate resolutions
  • Document maintenance, repairs, and test activities plus updates
  • Follow change control procedures for new implementations
  • Create and maintain system documentation, diagrams and SOPs
  • Research and implement automated processes to improve efficiency
  • Analyze and monitor capacity and performance; make improvements
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Summary

Responsibilities

  • Document maintenance,repairs,and test activities; as well as include documentation updates as an integral part of everyproject
  • Follow change control procedures during new implementations and changes to existingsystems
  • Create andmaintainsystem documentation, diagrams, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Research and implement automated processes to improve operationalefficiency
  • Analyze andmonitorthecapacityand performance of systems and software applications and make recommendations for improvements asnecessary
  • Perform other duties and projectsassigned
Travel

20% - 35% to other sites, as needed

Required Qualifications
  • 7 years of experience in Microsoft Windows and/or Linux System Administration
  • Active Security+ CE certificationor Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Extensive knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
  • Knowledge of Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) and Security Technical Implementation Guide(STIG)experience
  • Familiarity with Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS)
  • Familiarity with the RMF (Risk Management Framework) process
  • Ability to work independently and as part of ateam
  • Familiarity with SCIF environment constraints, including electronic device restrictions and secure data handling
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be flexible with work schedule to include occasional weekends
  • Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., and occasionallyrequiredto lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Navy systems,Networks, and IT infrastructure
  • 7 years of senior level System Administrator experience
  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate is aplus
Education

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education and/or advanced certification;aMaster'sdegree will be considered in lieu of 3 years of professionalexperience

For this position, the projected compensation range is $100,000 - $155,000 per year. This estimate represents the typical salary range and is just one part of MIL's complete compensation package.
