Maricopa County is seeking a Systems Administrator Lead to manage and troubleshoot enterprise server environments, including VMware, Windows Server, IIS, Active Directory, and SAN storage. The role includes on-call rotation, backup and DR responsibilities, and collaboration with vendors and engineers.

The position emphasizes hands-on server and storage support, patch management, and documentation to ensure reliable operations across data center resources.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience administering, configuring, managing, installing, and troubleshooting VMware, PowerShell, AWS, Azure, Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 operating systems, IIS Web Applications, Active Directory, and SAN systems.
• Certifications in Microsoft Server OS, VMware, AWS, Azure are valued.
• Experience with data center hardware and backup systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Installs, operates, maintains and administers Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 operating systems and related roles.
• Manages data center hardware including Dell PowerEdge Servers and backup systems.
• Administers AWS and Azure hosted data centers including backup and DR services.
• Configures IIS Web Server security, SSL, and URL Authentication Rules.
• Takes proactive steps to improve performance and resolve issues; participates in on-call rotation.
• Creates and documents policies, installation instructions, and knowledge base materials.
