Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Network/Desktop Administrator to support and maintain enterprise network and end-user computing infrastructure in a hybrid Annapolis, MD environment. You will configure Cisco IOS-XE/NX-OS switches, manage VDI/thin-client provisioning, and administer Windows endpoints while delivering responsive end-user support.

The ideal candidate holds an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, a technical BS, and 5+ years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with 5+ years of system administration experience.
• 1–2 years network administration including Cisco IOS-XE/NX-OS.
• 2+ years VDI/thin-client admin and Windows 10/11 management.
• Experience with AD, SCCM/MECM, and patch management.
• Familiarity with STIGs and security baselines.

Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco switches (IOS-XE/NX-OS).
• Manage VDI/thin-client provisioning and endpoint deployment via PXE.
• Administer Windows 10/11 endpoints including reliability and lifecycle support.
• Execute patch management to remediate vulnerabilities per IAVAs.
• Use PuTTY/PowerShell/CLI for configuration and diagnostics.
• Maintain Active Directory accounts, groups, and GPO basics.
• Document changes and provide clear, non-technical end-user support.

Basic Qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required
• Bachelors degree in a technical discipline and 5 years of system administration experience. Five years of additional experience may be substituted for a BS.
• 1-2 years of combined experience in network administration to include working knowledge of Cisco switches on IOS-XE and NX-OS platforms.
• 2+ years experience administering the customer’s classified VDI / thin-client desktop platform
• 2+ years experience Windows 10 and/or Windows 11 administration and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with PXE-based imaging/deployment.
• Proficiency with PuTTY, PowerShell, and Windows command-line tools.
• Experience with Active Directory user/group administration.
• Experience with endpoint management platforms (SCCM/MECM, BigFix).
• Familiarity with security baselines and STIG compliance.
• Exposure to ticketing/ITSM systems JIRA.
• Basic firewall awareness and coordination experience (e.g., Cisco Firepower/ASA).
• Familiarity with remote administration tools.

Desired Qualifications:

• Understanding of networking fundamentals: VLANs, subnetting, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and switching concepts.
• Understanding port security concepts and remediation.
• Strong customer service orientation and clear written/verbal communication.
• Understanding of patch management processes and vulnerability remediation (IAVA-driven).
• Understanding of structured cabling, patch panels, and physical connectivity.
• Knowledge of basic scripting/automation for repetitive administrative tasks.

We are currently seeking a Network / Desktop Administrator to support and maintain enterprise network and end-user computing infrastructure. This is a hybrid role combining hands-on switching and network support with desktop/endpoint administration. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across the stack — from configuring VLANs and port security on Cisco switches to imaging endpoints and troubleshooting Windows 10/11 clients — while delivering responsive, professional customer support to end users. This role balances infrastructure work with day-to-day operational support and requires someone who can work independently on routine tasks and **escalate appropriately** on complex issues. Duties may also include:

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco switches running IOS-XE and NX-OS.
• Implement and manage port security, including MAC-based controls and violation remediation.
• Support enterprise network fundamentals: TCP/IP, subnetting, DHCP/DNS behavior, and Layer 2/Layer 3 troubleshooting.
• Support and help maintain VDI / thin-client infrastructure, including endpoint provisioning and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Perform endpoint imaging and deployment via PXE boot and associated deployment tooling.
• Administer Windows 10 and Windows 11 endpoints, including configuration, troubleshooting, and lifecycle support.
• Execute patch management and remediate vulnerabilities in response to IAVAs, ensuring systems remain compliant with security baselines and STIGs.
• Use CLI and administrative tooling — PuTTY, PowerShell, and Windows CMD — for configuration, diagnostics, and routine automation.
• Support STE/STN environment and associated operational procedures.
• Perform Active Directory tasks such as account and group management, OU navigation, and basic Group Policy awareness.
• Document configurations, procedures, and changes; follow existing standards and conventions.
• Provide high-quality customer service and end-user support, including ticket handling and clear communication with non-technical staff.
• Coordinate across teams on cross-functional dependencies.
