Our Client, a Mortgage Financing company, is seeking a Systems Administrator III for their Washington, DC location.
Responsibilities:
- Support Capital Markets trading desk operations and live trading activities.
- Serve as the primary operations contact; manage workflows and ensure compliance.
- Implement and monitor operational risk controls to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with trading, compliance, legal, and middle/back-office teams for smooth trade execution.
- Partner with technology and project teams to drive process improvements, system upgrades, and automation initiatives.
- Prepare for significant market events and ensure business continuity.
- Produce operational reports and metrics for management review.
- Work closely with technology and project management teams to enhance trading platforms, market room systems, and automate manual processes.
- Support new product launches, business initiatives, and regulatory change implementations from an operational perspective.
- Manage technology issues through a ticketing system.
- Oversee initiatives to install and maintain hardware and software.
- Maintain user access accounts.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of trading platforms, market data feeds, order execution, and post-trade processing.
- Strong understanding of system administration tasks, user profile management, OS troubleshooting, and system performance monitoring.
- Experience with endpoint management tools like Microsoft SCCM, device provisioning, patch management, and software distribution.
- Knowledge of networking, latency analysis, and firewall configurations.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
- Proficiency in Python, R, or Excel for data analysis, automation, and reporting.
- Ability to oversee real-time issue resolution with minimal downtime.
- Strong communication skills to liaise between traders, support teams, and compliance officers.
- Familiarity with market data vendors like Bloomberg and Reuters.
- Expertise in service management concepts, including ITIL practices and SDLC.
- Technical delivery skills to address customer questions and concerns.
- Experience interpreting system design and performance indicators.
- Ability to work cooperatively with cross-functional teams.
- Skilled in documentation and database reporting tools such as Excel and SSRS.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ServiceNow, Mac OS, Microsoft SCCM, Workspace One, Windows 10/11, JIRA, and IPC Turret Phone Systems.
- 3-5+ years of related work experience, ideally 6 years.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience with systems administration, Unix, troubleshooting, or telecom.
