Seeking an experienced IT systems administrator to support classified lab environments that use Linux and Windows networked systems. The role requires expertise in setting up and managing Windows Servers and Workstations, including Microsoft Windows Active Directory, Group Policy Management, and Exchange services.

A successful candidate will be a Windows Server lead supporting internal customers by designing, implementing, and managing lab infrastructure to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work with facilities security staff to develop and apply hardening steps for systems used in classified environments, adhering to NISPOM Chapter 8, JAFAN, and other standards.
• Document system configurations for both new and existing systems. Experience with centralized authentication technologies such as LDAP and Active Directory domains supporting cross-platform clients is desirable.
• Maintain and develop Linux infrastructure technology to ensure 24x7x365 uptime.
• Engineer solutions related to systems administration for various projects and operational needs.
• Manage best practices across all environments for system and service management.
• Perform fault analysis and logging to report performance issues.
• Monitor system performance proactively and plan capacity accordingly.
• Coordinate and implement software upgrades, patches, and hot fixes on servers, workstations, and network hardware.
• Create and modify scripts or applications to automate tasks.
• Suggest improvements to enhance stability, security, efficiency, and scalability.
• Collaborate with teams to develop automation strategies and deployment processes.

Minimum Requirements

• Active Secret Clearance.
• High School Diploma with 4+ years of experience, or Associate's Degree with 2 years, or Bachelor's Degree with 1+ year.
• At least 2 years of experience in enterprise Linux and/or Windows Server environments, including Windows Active Directory, Group Policy, SharePoint, and Exchange services.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP and Microsoft Networking concepts.
• Experience with Windows and Unix/Linux interoperability services, including centralized authentication technologies.
• Proficiency in Windows shell scripting and Linux bash scripting is a plus.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and move into positions requiring standing or kneeling to connect computing equipment.
