Job summary

FIS is seeking a System Administrator II to support and optimize enterprise systems across Windows, Linux, and virtualized environments in Fairfield, CA. You will administer, monitor, and troubleshoot to ensure high availability, security, and performance while contributing to automation and incident resolution.

The role emphasizes collaboration, change management, and ongoing improvements in infrastructure reliability, with opportunities to grow within fintech operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience administering enterprise server environments and infrastructure.
• Strong Windows Server and/or Linux administration knowledge.
• Experience with virtualization, cloud/hybrid infrastructure.
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, connectivity.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, performance management, incident resolution.
• Scripting/automation: PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Administer Windows, Linux, and virtualized server environments for high availability.
• Monitor infrastructure health, utilization, and capacity; proactively resolve issues.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, OS, and network incidents.
• Apply patches, upgrades, maintenance per change management.
• Support identity and access management incl. provisioning and security controls.
• Develop automation scripts to improve efficiency.
• Manage backups, recovery, and DR processes.
• Collaborate with infra, security, app, and support teams.
• Maintain system documentation and procedures.
• Participate in incident response and root cause analysis.
