Position: Systems Administrator II

Support the NASA Shared Service Center by maintaining and troubleshooting IT systems. Responsibilities include managing IT infrastructure, supporting system operations, and ensuring security and performance.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage hardware, operating systems, and virtual machines in a LAN environment.
• Install, configure, and maintain servers, storage, and network devices for high availability.
• Troubleshoot hardware, OS, and application incidents, escalating as needed.
• Create technical diagrams for network, virtual infrastructure, and application dependencies.
• Monitor backups and perform restores as necessary.
• Implement security configurations to comply with NASA cybersecurity policies.
• Support application updates and configurations in development and test environments.

Basic Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
• Associate degree in IT or four years of relevant experience.
• Proficient with Windows, Linux, and server applications like IIS or Apache.
• Ability to lift at least 40 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• B.S. in a computer-related field or equivalent experience.
• Four years of IT experience.
• Willingness to relocate within 50 miles of NASA center.
• Experience with virtual infrastructure and storage systems.

Pay range: $25.00/hr. - $29.00/hr.
